Therapy for Women

You are an intelligent, hard-working woman. Whatever you do, you do your best. Yet, certain relationships push your buttons, get under your skin, and highlight your insecurities. It’s overwhelming. You think about it constantly. You’re never saying the right thing, and you’re unsure what else to do. Maybe you feel that people are tugging on you constantly. When you get a moment to breathe, something else pops up.

We will work together to figure out what you can do to feel better. Whether it’s setting boundaries, ending the toxic relationship, or accepting the relationship as it is. It is about helping you decide what’s best for you! You will learn ways to cope, reduce those uncomfortable emotions, and experience joy in your life.

I’m a compassionate and straightforward therapist. I work with you to make therapy effective and quick. There’s a good chance we’ll laugh, cry, and maybe even cuss a little bit during our sessions. The approaches I use are solution-focused. You will develop insight, wisdom, and courage to do what’s best for you. I know how tired you are of feeling this way. So, let’s move forward together.

My treatment specialties:

  • Trauma-informed care (sexual abuse, violence, neglect, PTSD, etc.)

  • Narcissistic abuse

  • Stress & Life Transitions

  • Breaking toxic relational patterns

  • Self-Esteem & Emotional Disturbance

  • Mood Disorders (Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar II)

  •  Building coping skills & reframing thinking patterns

Managing Big Emotions and Trauma

Stress and anxiety show up in our bodies. You might experience tingling sensations, nausea, sweating, hives, muscle tension, rapid breathing, pounding heart, difficulty concentrating, or even panic attacks. Some people try therapy by itself or with medication too. Both individually and together help make anxiety more manageable. I will help you learn natural and enjoyable strategies.

As a Certified Trauma Specialist, I have years of training in the residual effects of complex/chronic trauma. Particularly with women who have experienced childhood trauma, dating violence, or relational abuse. As we work together, you will feel better.

More about me

Born and raised in Ohio, I attended Ohio University and Walsh University. I have completed hundreds of hours of additional training in trauma-informed care and interventions to treat complex trauma. I’ve been a Therapist for nearly 17 years, and I love what I do. More importantly, I’ve had relationships that created the same emotions you’re experiencing the good, the bad, and the ugly. I get it!

Two things I have learned along this journey. I didn’t get where I am today by sailing smooth seas. The waters were scary at times, but I made it. I also realized that I did the best I could with what I knew at the time. Once I knew better, I did better.
